What is airsoft?

Is airsoft safe for beginners?
Yes, airsoft is generally safe for beginners when proper safety measures are followed. Wearing protective gear and following the rules of the game ensures a fun and safe experience for everyone involved.
What are the benefits of Airsoft?
Airsoft is an extremely fun form of exercise with lots of fresh air, running, crouching and dynamic movement. It teaches you teamwork, decision making skills and has an excellent and supportive community.
How old do I need to be to play airsoft?
Players typically need to be at least 13 years old to participate in airsoft games. However, younger players may need parental consent and supervision depending on the event.
Can I bring my own airsoft gun?
Yes, players are encouraged to bring their own airsoft guns to events. However, all equipment must meet the safety standards and velocity limits as set by the field to ensure a safe playing environment. We do have rentals available if you do not have your own equipment.
Here is the gear required and recommended to play airsoft at SAS.
Required ( can be rented )
- Airsoft Gun with magazines,
- Fully charged battery,
- Ammo (BB’s),
- Eye protection,
- Face Protection,
Recommended Equipment
- Boot or solid footwear (lots of spear grass and varying terrain),
- Full pants, jeans or ideally rip-stop type material (combat BDU’s work great) Darker colors, and greens and browns work best to help with concealment.,
- Breathable full sleeve top or jacket. Will vary on season and forecast, so a rain jacket may be necessary.,
- Gloves (not necessary but a good item for hand protection in thorny bushes and BB strikes),
- Headwear. Ball cap, boonie cap, bump helmet, schemagh, all acceptable.,
- Water, food and electrolytes in the summer time when it’s super hot.,
Optional Equipment
- Chest rig, vest or some way to carry extra magazines ( included in our rental package ),
- Flashlight (required for night games),
- Kneepads for kneeling in rough terrain with sharp sticks,
- Gaiters, our field has lots of spear grass and sealing the pant leg to your boot will keep that annoying stuff out. Gaiters help with Ticks as well.
